Drobnak to Perform at SCRTEC 2026

Ken Drobnak will co-host and appear at SCRTEC 2026 at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. This is the second regional conference that Dr. Scott Roeder and Drobnak have hosted, the first being in 2017. Drobnak's primary duty will be hosting the conference website. 

Drobnak will present an Artist Recital Friday morning in the Performing Arts Center. Works to be performed include Ian Lester's Sonata for Tuba and Piano (Hades), Simple Song by Leonard Bernstein and an arrangement of Song of Hope by Peter Meacham that Drobnak completed for the conference. 

The conference is sponsored by the International Tuba Euphonium Association. Information is posted at www.scrtec2026.com/home. Featured evening artists include Scott Sutherland (Thursday), UTRGV Wind Orchestra (Friday) and the San Antonio Brass Band (Saturday). 

The event will take place from May 19 through May 21.
